Reflection 2 ( Curriculum Development )

Which of the curriculum type you think works best for the students.

In Curriculum Development class, we have been taught that there are 6 types of curriculum. What are they ? No worries dear, i will explain one by one for you guys.

1) Recommended curriculum
This curriculum is recommended by Ministry of education or any professional association. Students and teachers are clear about this kind of curriculum ( standardized )

2) Taught curriculum
It consist two way communication which is between teacher and students.Teacher also considered the students' ability before use the curriculum.

3) Written curriculum
This type of curriculum help students to develop attitudes that will lead to international mindedness.

4) Tested curriculum
Students will be test to identify their ability and understanding in the topic.

5) Supported curriculum
This curriculum need support from material such as textbook as guideline in teaching and learning.

6) Learned curriculum
Students learn by identifying their mistakes in previous test.

So based on my opinion, each of the curriculum can't stand alone to create an effective teaching and learning process. At least, the combination of two curriculum are needed.

For example, Taught curriculum and Supported curriculum will be great combined together. This is because i believe that two way communication are needed in class. In other word, teaching based on students centered. Everything that teacher want to do, teacher have to measure the ability of all the students in the class first.

While for supported curriculum, i think that all teachers and students need a standardized source of information (textbook). This is to make teaching and learning process become easier. So, the combination of this two will give a good effect to both students and teachers.
